Astros Make History as AL West Champions Without Winning Record

The Houston Astros have become the first division champions in MLB history to clinch the AL West without a winning record. This unprecedented achievement comes as the Astros prepare to face the Chicago White Sox in the opening game of the wild card series, with Hagen Smith and AJ Blubaugh taking the mound.

The Astros' unique path to the division title highlights the competitive dynamics of the AL West this season. Despite not securing a winning record, the Astros managed to outperform their divisional rivals to claim the top spot, setting the stage for a challenging postseason run.
